Gone but not forgotten
From the Chicago Sun-Times:
Powell Takes Pace Car for a Spin
What goes 'round and 'round comes 'round and 'round.
As Colin Powell can attest.
The former secretary of state went for a test drive Saturday in Indianapolis in the pace car for the May 29 Indy 500.
The Corvette convertible he drove was more than a little different from the Corvette coupe he owns.
"I got it up to 110, 115,'' he said of the speed of the pace car. "My other car, my real car at home, I'll never be able to do that with it. I'm just going to have to be content to keep it within the speed limit.''
Powell said he would have "butterflies'' for the 500.
"It's going to be hard to get me off the track on the day of the race,'' he said. ''But knowing what's behind me ... at 230 mph, you've got to get out of the way as fast as you can.'' Good to see Powell is a fast learner.
