Leighton Reese and his Banner Engineering Corvette C-6 to miss Round 6 of the SPEED World Challenge GT Series at Lime Rock Park

Eden Prairie Minnesota (June 30, 2005): Leighton Reese will not race at the 4th of July weekend SPEED World Challenge race at Lime Rock. Although Leighton likes racing at Lime Rock and has run well there in the past due to personal scheduling issues and a desire to improve his program for the remainder of the season he made the difficult decision to return to his shop at Minneapolis to prepare for the next races in Sonoma California and Portland Oregon.

"This decision might seem odd after we ran well at Cleveland," Reese said. "But our competitiveness there convinced Joe (crew chief Kantarik) and me that by taking the car back to the shop and spending the funding and time we would normally have spend at Lime Rock on performance improvements we feel that we could take a serious run at podium positions and possibly even give Corvette something it hasn't had in over 22 races. A race win!"

"The Banner Engineering Corvette and I will return and will hit the track running when the series heads out to the west coast," Reese said.
