I'm considering adding a nitrous system to my gm crate engine 350, 330hp vortec heads. I also have the edelbrock performance carb and hei distributor. Has anyone tried nitrous with my setup?
which one would work better with the edelbrock?

What intake do you have on that engine? Is that the GM 330HP/350 engine ya got? Im wondering if you can throw a dual plane high rise performer on that w/ a stinger hood.

Sometimes I just start dreamin and i get too far ahead of myself.....

The only thing about Nitrous is the short block needs to be built with Nitrous in mind. Being a crate engine built for 330 HP, it may be OK for small shots of Nitrous. Just be careful and don't go overboard with it because it may blow the bottom end out of your engine.

Holley claims up to 140hp shot of NOS is OK with a stock engine (cast pistons, crank) If in doubt, call their tech line.

Thanks for you input on NOS and how the use of it can affect the engine. I love the idea of tremendous increase in hp wiith NOS, have too much invested in the mods to risk blowing up the engine. How can I be sure that I'm using the 140 hp when I hit the NOS BUTTON?

Thanks for any additional input for other NOS users!

The Holley Super Power Shot has a set of 6 jets. Select one for the fuel and one for the N2O based on the HP gain you wish. Other things to consider are a low fuel pressure switch and some type of safety device that will prevent N2O release before a set RPM. Both of the above plus selecting a larger kit than your motor can handle and detonation are the biggest issues with N2O.
