Question: No Fog Lights

New here, but long time reader. Have a 96 corvette. When I turn on the fog lights switch, the lights don’t come on and the high beam indicator comes on. I changed the dimmer switch hoping for an easy fix, but no luck. I thought maybe fog light relay? Any ideas would be appreciated. Everyone here is tops. Thanks, Ted

High Resistance or Non Existent Grounds cause Electronics to do weird Sh*T!!
Clean and Inspect All Grounds,Engine,Chassis and Harnesses!

To echo GM Junkie I found this excerpt that emphasizes what he is refering to:

Research on the driving light subject indicates
that some C4�s have their driving lights grounded directly to chassis
ground. This setup is ideal for the above modification. Other C4�s have
their driving lights grounded through the headlight high beam filament.
What this does is that it will automatically shut the driving lights off
when the high beams are turned on. However, if your driving lights are
grounded through your high beam filament, you will not get any noticeable
improvement in lighting quality by going to the higher wattage driving
light bulbs. In fact, the higher wattage bulbs will cause your high beams
to glow dimly when the driving lights are turned on. To correct this, you
must cut your driving light ground wire and ground it directly to chassis
ground if you wish to perform this upgrade.

What you posted has to do with the earlier model C4's!!(84-87,88)
I'm talking about Cleaning and Inspecting All Grounds!!
Nobody ever checks them,and It can only take 1 bad one to make Electronics and Lighting to do weird things and cause feedback to other components!!

Kinda like when your following somebody with their turn sig on and they brake to slow down and the signal quits and the opposite brake lamp comes on/or everything gos out,or you switch to High Beam and 1 H/L go's bright and the other go's very dim,or you turn on the lights and the turn signal indicator/s(Either or Both) in the dash light up dim!!(Thats usually a Non Existent or High Resistance Ground!!
He turns on his Fog's and the High Beam Indicator comes on,He's getting feedback from a High Resistance or Non Existent Ground!!

As I said,He needs to Clean and Inspect ALL Grounds!! There are several on the vehicle!

Very Front: R&L frame rail below Headlamps.
Left side frame top beside Radiator.(1-3 Wires)
Right side frame top below AC unit.(1-2 Wires)
Behind Battery on frame.(Battery Removal Required 2-3 Wires)
Engine Block above Oil Filter.(Several Wires)
Left side 2nd bolt up on Bell Housing.(Several Wires)
Left side Frame Rail behind Lt Rear Wheel (1-2 Wires)

On my C4, I also found a braided ground wire from the rear of the right side head to the frame! Not sure if its supposed to be there, but thats where I found one!

I just added a cable from neg battery to block and will add yet another block to major frame componant. With the new Optima its finally worth doing. Man, that battery keeps things lit up!
