I would highly suggest NOT buying the preformed heat reflective material. It is good stuff, but you can buy the regular rolls for less money and cut them to fit perfectly. You will end up doing a much better job than the preformed because the preform doesn't cover the entire transmission tunnel like you can. :)

A little extra work and a little less cash to do it.

any idea where to look for this heat reflective material ?

should i look for a certain type or just what my local auto store might have ??

Alright !!!

I put a shut off on the hose running into heater core.
Wow!!! what a diffrence it made. I still get some warm air down there, but its alteast bearable now.

I plan on doing the return line as well, after running her for a while I checked and sure enought the return hose was hot!! I was intending on doing them both tonght but Im haveing a hard time finding a valve for the return line.

The line to the core fit a 1/2 shut off valve with an extention on eigher end just right, however the line running back is larger. The hose measured out to 3/4 inner diameter. Cant seem to locate a valve to fit any of the local hareware stores.

I even tried home depot which had a very large selection, I dont think its a standard pipe size. I may be stuck here.

Bob,

You are doing some great write-ups and photo taking on your website! You should be very proud.

Russ

Thanks Russ.

I would have had it up earlier but for some reason I lost all ability to access anything on the Internet except the web.

I put windows on one partition and everything else on another. Formatted this hard drive and was back up and running in 1/2 hour. I just have to reinstall my programs but all data is still there.

I found the vac hose that goes to the valve. It was burned from the exhaust. I spliced it and hooked her up. My interior temp. dropped. No more oven riding. Isnt life with Vettes grand? Thanks Guys. Anyone going to Englishtown for the Show and Go?

I also found the hose Saturday morning. As you say, it was burned clean thru, replaced it with new hose, re-routed to avoid burn thru, and considerably cooler inside! :cool

Thanks all!

Steve :w
