Hey guys new to this forum, I have an 82 corvette and the other night and i hit the brakes and all my interior lights cut out including dash, radio etc... I looked at the fuse box and pulled the fuse to see that it was still good but it was the wrong one, the original owner had a 30amp fuse instead of a 20, i put a 20 in like there should be and now it just blows them everytime i connect the battery. I'm really getting sick of this car and considering about setting it on fire or shooting it! Need some advice on this. thanks.

Seems the last owner took a shortcut and raised fuse rating instead of correcting overload problem. Good way to start a fire.:(

I would suggest getting a service manual. This will show complete wiring schematic of all items associated with this circuit, where they run and grounding points. Possibly he made additions to the circuit thereby causing an overload condition on the 20 amp rating. If you like I can scan over the schematic later tonight.
Shoot me a PM and let me know.
Don't get discouraged. The 82 is a sweet car. and the fix is probably not all that bad.:w

-your car is just messing with you 'cause it thinks you don't love it! -remove the R&L/kick-panels, pull off the axial-wire going into the plunger-switch at each door, and see if it stops blowing fuses; --sometimes the switch-shafts short-out from wear(replacement ones are often all plastic, so can't short-out!). Caution, be sure to replace with proper length plunger-switch, as if only 1/8th-inch to short, -it then won't shut-off!!! If this dosen't fix it, -then Yes, certainly set fire to it, --as for sure it won't blow any more fuses... ~Bob vH
