No power out of starter..

Was running fine had exhaust put on and still running. Then went dead can't even jump it. I did have a burnt ground wire before exhaust was put on. then traced wires of starter all look fine. A buddy said something about some kind of fuse that old corvettes have and that is first place to look????

The fusible link is in the wire right up next to where it attaches to the starter--in the smaller wire.
