After replacing the rear end cover and going over the complete rear suspension, I took my '73 Vette out on the road. It ran fine for a couple weeks, but has now developed a noise in the front end. This occurs primarily when I am going in reverse and turn the steering wheel. When the front wheel gets to a certain turning point and the brakes are applied, there is a certain feel in the pedal and the steering wheel (almost as if a spring is binding-don't know how else to describe it). A milder version of this happens when I apply the brakes moving forward. This does not occur all the time, but only at selective times (perhaps a caliper grabbing?). I have replaced the front sway bar bushings which were rotten, new ball joints, brake calipers, rotors, tie rod ends. The only component not replaced has been the center link. I am wondering if this might be the culprit? When the car is jacked up on one side, I can take the wheel and wiggle it from side to side a bit (east/west). This can be done on both sides. I am going to inspect the wheel bearings tomorrow........although everything seems ok in that department. It isn't a sound you can hear outside the car, maybe I am just a bit paranoid since this car seems to be requiring more and more "plastic surgery" due to her age. Any suggestions are appreciated. This is getting to be the final couple weeks for my hotrod......so hopefully it isn't anything too complicated OR $$$$$$$$, before I put er' away for the winter. Thanks!
