A good friend has a '84 Vette.' It's been setting in a garage for quite a while. It turns over ok. It starts when you pour a little gas in the manifold, but then shuts off. There is gas in the tank.
My question: Is there a fuel shut-off switch on the '84's?

First, make sure that the fuel pump runs. When you turn the key to the "On" position, you should hear the pump run for two seconds. If it doesn't run, either the pump relay is not working, or there could be a bad connection at the pump. One other cause for this is the ECM may not be energizing the relay for the two seconds. If you got the car to start, the pump will get power through the oil pressure switch. This is built into the system in case the relay doesn't work.
If the pump runs, then you're not getting fuel to the throttle body. Look into the throttle body while cranking. You should see fuel spraying from the injectors. If not, check the connectors to the injectors. Sometimes you get a film that prevents contact.
