1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I live in the east coast, yesterday and today we had 50 to a high of 68 today weather (we are comming off a long cold winter)Any ways I came home earley from work today (spring fever) and pulled out the C5 put the top down and picked my son up from school. What a great car.I havent used the car in a while because of the weather and the top was up when I used it So today was a special treat to have nice weather and the top down and was a reminder of why I purchased this car.
in the first place.

I am a fairley new member to this forum I spend alot of time in the C2 section.I am sure you guys in the warmer climates are laughing that we only get to use the cars with the top down only a short time during the year

I'm an East Coast guy myself and I know exactly how you feel! I haven't popped the top (targa) as of yet but I'm really looking forward to it. I just wish all of this rain would go away so that I could drive it more often. It's supposed to get in the upper 60's/lower 70's over the weekend......open-air-cruisin' here I come! :Steer

I live in Southeast Alaska where I drive my '99 convertible from about the 1st of May to the end of September. I have a while before I can "put the top down".:w :pat

Oh, yes spring is arriving in the DC. Area. Can't wait until the top can be down all day.

First of all, you have two beautiful cars. Congrats. How do you decide which one to drive when you have two roadsters?

Reading these threads about you guys up in the "cold country" makes me appreciate our Sunshine State even more.
We had winter last month.
Seriously, it was "cold" for us all of February. It even got into the low 50's a couple of nights in South Florida!

One more question, did you do the work (reflection) in your signature? It is awesome!

Regards,
Pedro:w

We have the most beautiful weather in Dallas right now. I have had the targa off for almost a week. Bought the car last October and have never taken the top off. Now, I don't ever want to put it back on. I hope we have a long Spring. Summer here really is too hot to have the top off. Have fun guys....

Spring Time is here now in Tennessee........love it........and anytime you can get the Vette out is Great.......:D I work four days on and then four days off with the police dept and that is 12 hours a day.. I drive the Grown Vic Cruiser all the time as a police car.......But everytime I get into the Vette, its like a new car to me........Love those Vetts.........:upthumbs

Springtime in Sweden to. Took the vette out for a ride yesterday. First time for me and the C5. Think we have the same climat as Canada. Long winter and schort summer.

Ih2lose,

Reached 70 yesterday. Didn't pull my toy off the blocks yet. Am waiting for the sand and pot holes to go away. Also waiting to go back to work. I might have one but it's an hour away and I ose about 40% of my prior salary, but after my 5 month "vacation", I can't wait.

Nor can I wait until the roads are clear and clean. Next year I may get a bra for my baby.

Don't forget to wave !

Pedro A fellow by the handel of wireless (from a forum I used to frequent )did this for me and a couple of other neet pictures.I emailed him my pictures and his ideas and he made them for me.He is truly an artist.I took the digital pictures on a disk to kinkos and had posters done of them all and a mouse pad,I had one of the posters on the windsheild of my cars last summer at a car show and was offered alot of money for it. A fellow just had to have it for his den he had the say two cars as me.I e mailed him a copy of the images for him to get a poster made for himself.
Thanks for the comment

Top Down!

There isn't any better therapy for most any ailment that I know of, especially after a tough day on the job, than to drop the top and ease out on the road of your choice! It NEVER fails to make my wife and I feel better, and always puts a smile on our faces! Convertibles rule in our house. We've had 'em for over 30 years and couldn't do without them!

Not laughing here at all. We have a short time of year to drive with the top down as well. We get a few weeks of spring and then it jumps to 80+ with 100% humidity. From there it's just too hot to drive with the top down. :( Our spring has already come and gone. Sure there will be a few days that I will drive with the top down, but the fantastic, cool, breezy spring weather has already passed us.

And I must also reiterate what was said above. Two very nice cars.

It is hard to belive that you can live in a country were it is TO HOT to have the topp down. I think i would like to live there.

Leon

Thank you It funney the grass is alway greener.
I vacation in florida (clearwater) and the folks where we stay had exsplained last year that they can alway tell who the out of staters are because they have the tops down on the rental cars.No floridian in there right mind would be driving in aprill with the top down.

THANKS AGAIN

I am a Floridian and if I can't take the top down because of the weather, it usually means it's raining or going to rain.
That means the vette does not go out.
My car is not a daily driver (week-end pleasure duty only) and if I'm going out in it, the top is always down. The top is only meant to keep the dust off while it's under the cover in the garage. There is nothing like the wind blowing around you.

So if you're in South Florida in the middle of the summer and see a tripleblack C5 cruising with the top down, it could be me.
My tag says "BKSICAN" so wave when I wave at ya!

Hey, the next time you come down to Clearwater let me know, I've got two daughters living in Tampa. Maybe we can get a vette get-together!

Hi IH2LOSE,
As you can see in my address I'm in the same boat. I believe it was last Monday the temp was in the high 50' or low 60's and the sun was out as bright as can be. I popped the top off the coupe and got a "Vette suntan". "What the h*## is that?" you ask. It where the forehead gets tanned because that's where the sun is shining. I am so glad the roof is easy to pop off and store because I am planning to get more Vette suntans whenever I can up here.

We went from "winter" to summer. February set record lows, March set record highs. I figured I'd get to drive my GS quite a bit in March, but it got way to hot for me too soon. Besides, I can carry more in the C5 (and have easier access to stuff).

Some people can stand the sun better than others. Summers here in South Florida are just way to hot for me to take the top down. After 5 minutes in the sun, and it doesn't matter how much air is blowing by me, I'm hotter than an egg in a frying pan. More aptly, I feel like a lobster in a boiling kettle of water.
