What are the pro's and con's of one piece clip vs. using the bonding strips and fender pieces? Will the one piece clip look and fit just as well?

You just answered your question. The advantage of a one-piece front clip is there are not any bonding strips. Disadvantage is you won't win topflight at Bloomington.
