I have to replace my oxygen sensor 2 time in two months.....
The last one failed after 400 miles !!!

I used a 3 leads sensor with Hooker headers (a one lead sensor do not run in "closed loop" )

What could be the cause to this problem???

I guess my first question is how do you know the sensor itself is bad. I assume you are using a heated O2 sensor?

hope fully others guys with header will get in this, but i think you may have to move it away from the headers.

O2 problem...

When my problem appear, I test all sensors: all are ok.
When I disconnect the wrong O2 sensor, engine run again well.(no miss)
So, I have replace it: engine run very well for 400 miles....and same problem is back!!!
I think effectively the sensor is to close the header (on the header reducer).
I'm going to move it with my new sensor.

What is the good distance from header??

(???:confused ???I do not understand why a standart sensor do not run on the same place (too cold???)???(no closed loop) and why a 3 lead "burn" because is to close!!!!

JeanLuc

I keep getting the same problem with my headers.
