I have a 1991 L98. I recently replaced the O2 sensor on the drivers side. There is only one wire going to the O2 sensors, there are 3 wires coming out of the harness. My problem is two of them were broken and I can’t figure out where they go. I believe one is a ground, any suggestions on the other wire would be greatly appreciated. I can’t find it on a wiring harness. Car ran better with one grounded, think it will run better if I find this connection.

How many wires were on the OEM sensor that you removed?

91 VIN 8 uses single-wire sensors. The two broken wires likely go to some other device.

If you have the Electrical Supplement to the 91 Factory Service Manual, you'll find a wiring diagram in that book.

I have the supplement manual. It does not identify them. As I said, one is a ground, can’t identify the other. The diagram in the supplemental manual does not identify them, at least I can’t see them in The diagram. All three wires look the same, 22 gauge black wire. For lack of a better solution I am going to ground it and see if that smooths everything out.
