I have 1968 vette, 4-speed, 350 CID

I have noticed that when I shift I here a small clunking noise in the rear.

At first I thought it was the u-joints, so I replaced them. Also looked at the motor mounts and transmission mount all look good.

I still have the same noise so now I am think it is the differential mount or the rear-end itself.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can determine what the problem is? I do all of my own repairs so taking it to a shop is not my first choice and besides I do not trust a shop anyhow.

Is there a way to test the differential carrier to see if the mount is loose or broken? Any other things I should look at or look for that will cause the same problem?

Thanks
