Oil consumption

My 1967 big block is eating Mobil 1 at an alarming rate. No leaks, no smoke, just a lot of oil used. Any help as to why is appreciated.

How do your plugs look?

Most midyr BB's have always used oil.
How much is the question? A qt or so every 1000 mi
seems acceptable to many in the know folks.
Mine burns more than that. No smoke, or leaks.
It just uses it........
How much does your car burn?
May be the valve guides?
I think my car is ready as well.....
(One more thing, what weight do you use?)
I run 20-50 Valv. Racing. Thinner oils may sneak through
faster?)

Mine will consume oil when I run it hard. Some consumption is normal. I use Castrol GTX 20-50.
