Need product names which will cut down on oil consumption. 1 qt/1000 miles is unacceptable for 1967 327/350. Engine has 3000 miles on rebuild. Owner unwilling to re-hone and re-ring.

Man Give the Ring's Time to Seat!! I seen some engines take 10,000 mi to seat depending on the ring's used!! What are you using for Break in Oil??:upthumbs junk!!

Junkie,

Castrol GTX 10W-40. Break in oil out at about 500 miles.
I like to believe your logic, but pulled pan yesterday. Evidence of moderate scuffing on skirts and lower cylinder walls. Owner states that contamination MIGHT have entered engine during build-up.

Blast media.
Man I don't Know!! I'd say He's on his Own!!!! He mite drive it and it get better, but it probably Won't!!:D junk!!

Intake manifold was blasted with oil splash pan in place? Nice little colonies of blast media like to grow there.

Rings should seat in 30 seconds or 30 feet. He's got major problems! Glass beads should be able to completly finish off the motor by 5000 miles, or sooner if he drives it hard. His consumption will increase, not decrease.

AH.................

you can take it apart now and redo it or take it apart later and redo it..but you will have to take it apart and re do the motor.....and thank the prep guy who did the motor.....or just drive the think and wait for a big bang.
