Rube Goldberg would have loved the elbows and all running to my remote oil filter. All that is out and I am going to pricey, but very tough high pressure lines with minimum turns.

This darn Milodon flared pan interferes with the standard oil filter mount, due to the very long, factory oil cooler appliance.

I am not sure which is less work and more reliable: canning the 7 quart pan for a normal oil pan and normal filter, trying to get a shorter oil cooler attachment machined, using a shorter oil filter, or remounting the remote filter with these stiff HP hoses. Those headers may be wrapped and coated, but still get quite hot and are SO close to the hoses.

Anyone have this problem?

The car is 'airborne' again, and off I go for a couple of trips. Dag nab it!

Is yours a higher capacity pan?

Do you have the factory oil cooler?

Can you spin on a filter to the engine block or use a remote?

After the mess of finding an oil pump that matched up with the Milodon, which I am NOT anxious to repeat, I prefer not to change the pan.

Yes, no but I run an Earl's cooler, and yes. ;)

This is actually the only picture I have that gives you an idea of the room available with a Canton pan. It's a seven-quart pan, fully baffled with windage trays and scraper. The Earl's adapter is actually larger than the factory adapter, but I don't have a picture of that installed. Sorry Mike. :L

Thanks, Ken. I can see how nicely the standard spin-on would work.

Has anyone seen an adapter that angles the filter away, to clear the flared pan?

Gee, all those small blocks and no flared pans?

Talkin' with someone earlier today Mike, and it sounds as though you got the drag race pan or something; he said his has provisions for the filter and adapter. ;shrug

Ken- Any details on what sort of oil filter provisions? Thanks.

A space is provided for the filter is what I meant, similar to mine I guess.
