Oil Filter Adapter for LT1 change.

I want to use the larger oil filters like Vettes and other GM V8's have used up till the LT1 came out. I have long tubes which allows me to install a larger oil filter. I have seen people do it, but never asked or payed attentiont o the swap. My question is can I use the one in the picture which is what GM has used for years on there V8s, instead of the offset one I have in there now?

No personal experience with it, but "How to rebuild small-block chevy LT1/LT4 engines" says you can, and the picture they show looks like the same part in your picture.

I think this article here says you can, as they went the other way.
About 1/2 way down the page they show one on a V8, the offset, and explain it can beused on almost all V8's. And since it coming from a LT1, that means it work both ways.
