Oil Pan Leak Fixes

My 81 has on-going oil pan leak, since had valve cam replaced around 50K miles; anyone with good results on how to cure pan leaks once factory installation has been distrubed? Looking for a very good, long life pan gaskets or mfgr of high quality engine gaskets.

I put in the fel-pro (?) one piece rubber blue gasket. LOVE IT! It was so simple I was able to do it. ...should mention that I did it on the engine stand and not while engine was installed in vehicle.

Fel-Pro one piece blue pan gasket set P/N OS 34510T comes with "snap-ups" to hold gasket to block (in car) while you position pan (in car) ... comes with all new bolts too. It's a very good piece! Have everything spotless clean & straight & use silicone sealant/rtv only where gasketpak's directions tell you. Check the pan's rails for dimpling (straighten em) and check the groove at bottom of timing cover for straightness.

ps: P/N OS 34510T is for '75 thru '85 style sbc pans. This fits older 2-piece rear main seal cranks only with either right or left dipsticks.

Just used this gasket set on my 85 with the engine in. It sure beats using the usual two side piece/two end piece gasket set-up!!!!!

Thanks for the in-put, I have located a source for the Fel-pro gasket at "FlatLander Racing 608-378-0090 if anyone else has the need.

Most any local parts house that sells Fel-Pro should be able to get it in a day or two along with their regular stock orders.
