While replacing the hard-to-get-to oil pressure gauge/sensor, I noticed
another gauge coming from the same connecting unit. What is this?
Do they both have the same function? Also, what should the oil pressure read, approximately for the '94 LT1 with a mix of 5w/30 & 10w/30 Mobil Oil? Thanks

Sensor in the OP switch (3 wire ) is for digital gauge
Separate 1 wire one is for the analog gauge

Different on every car.

Rule of thumb....10 psi for every 1000 rpm is supposed to be good enough for street engines. Min of around 15 at idle, probably should peak warm at 50 on the freeway. Oil pressure should move right along with the rpm, up or down.
The max the gauge can display is 80 and thats near impossible to happen since the filter bypass will open long before 80 psi gets to that gauge..

One thing I've noticed, is that these gauges are NOT good for accuracy. They are for reference only. SO if its at 15 and climbs as RPM does, your oil pressure is ok. Would I bet on what the REAL oil pressure is? not with one of these gauges !
