Is this a bad oil pressure switch? Figure I'd take of that while I have the manifold off for the gasket replacement. Autozone shows an oil pressure switch and it's about $15.00 is that what I'm looking for?

Yes, replace the sending unit. When it reads 80psi all the time its usually dead.

Ha, well I thought the sensor was dead...until I noticed that the sensor was unplugged. Boy all the things I'm finding on this used car really makes me wonder about the Billy Bob that owned it before.

My favorite was his *fix* for the headlight motors. About 8 years ago he said the motors stopped working and he had to remove the springs. I was like WTF? So pulling the assemblies apart to fix them, I found that he had removed the brush springs. So I had to make up new springs out old ball point pens. My guess is that they logic for the motors tells them to run until the amps run up indicating that they have hit the stops at which point it kills the power. With the pills crunched up, it wouldn't move and either run the motor forever and ever or just till it times out or something. Anyway, new pills and some ball point pens later, the motors run again. But it's stuff like that...atleast the price was right :D
