oil pressure gauge

I cant seem to find the oil pressure sensor on my engine. I was told it was near the distributor. Could anyone give me a better desciption as to where it is. My oil pressure needle will go all crazy or not even work somtimes. I was told it is probably the sensor.

That is correct; the oil pressure sending unit is located behind the distributor at the top of the block.

Remove the distributor cap, its underneath. It looks like a small fuel filter, cylindrical.
