Hi all

I just bought my first vette 1994 with LT1 motor with only 57000 miles on it, work great,

The other night after highway driving I stop and at an idle the oil pressure gauge dropped to about 10lbs then flickered between 10 and 20 lbs, then dropped to 0, revved up the engine to 1500rpm and the gauge went up to 40lbs. shut off the car and ck the oil It was full. Restarted the engine the oil
pressure gauge went up to 45 then dropped off to 0 then 20 the jumped all over the place and then back to 0 .Whit the car running I then remove the oil fill cover and looked inside the valve cove and could see oil flowing at a good rate. Tonight I started the engine and oil pressure was back up to 65lbs and then drove the car about 15miles oil temp about 200F and stopped and the gauge started to jump back and forth between 5 and 20lbs, could this be signs of a oil sensor going bad after the car is warmed up?

Only way your going to find out is by changing the sensor.

Its possibly the sensor connection...the default for a d/c sensor is 80 psi, so readings opposite that indicate a contact thats got intermittent contact or dirty...corrosion.

You have 2 sensors on that fitting...one is oil pressure gauge and the other is a oil pressure switch for the fuel pump. Yor pressure sensor is the bulb shape sensor with one wire, probably on top of the other. It may have 2 wires...later yr models were different.
