Is it normal for the oil pressure to be low, ~20-25, when cold. It takes the oil temp a lot longer to heat up than the water temp. It seems that once the oil temp reaches the first notch, then the oil pressure jumps up to ~40 which is where it usually is.

I'm in Long Island, NY, and it's been real cold here lately. I'm running 10W-30 oil.

Thanks as always!

I hope it. I'm in Canada. We have similar weather. I run 20-30 cold. 40-45 hot. I think its normal.

I have found with thinner oil, i.e. synthetic, the cold oil pressure is higher.
