Driving home yesterday about 12 miles in my 98 Vert and I noticed that the oil pressure gage was pegged at 80 and the digital readout was 123-126 PSI and the oil temp was up to 216 degrees.

What could be the source of the problem???...sending unit, bearing, pump???

Please help.

HI there,
Most likely the sensing unit, located at the rear of the block, behind the intake manifold.
About 2.0 to replace, and the sensing unit is about $50.

Thanks for the info. I had posted here as well as Corvette forum and all of you say the same thing of what is wrong. Being a female, I am surely not going to fix it myself. I will let the experts take care of it even thought that means taking to a dealer.

Yep, c4c5specialist is correct again. I had the same problem and the dealer replaced the sensor. Good thing i have an extended warranty.
