Hello Everyone

The last time that I drove my Vette, the oil pressure gauge started fluctuating badly and now the needle is stuck past 80 psi whether the ignition switch is on or off., do you think that the sending unit is bad, short in the wiring or that the printed circuit board or the gauge is bad? I took the Gauge cluster out and could not find anything abnormal, but I guess that there could be a break in the flexible circuit board. What do you all think?

Thanks

Darrell

Suggest checking the oil pressure sender to see if it is shorted before replacing the flex print on the back of the gauges. It may still be the flex print, but check the sender first.

;) my moneys on the flex printed circuit. After a week of trying all kind of different approaches, I replaced the circuit (that we couldn't find anything wrong with!) and we lived happily ever after. It was behaving just like yours. good luck , Jim

Whatever it is , it is "electrical" rathere than your valves acting up.
