Oil pump or Sender?

My 84 oil pressure started fading from 65 down to 10 then 0 after a couple of miles. Lucky for me that I was close to home.

Changing the sender is not too bad, but doing the oil pump is hard work; and perhaps beyond my capabilities.

Can someone tell tell ne how to find out if the oil pump is working or not?

Hi there,
Unfortunately, really the only true way to test the oil pump is to install an oil pressure mechanical gauge.
I would have your specialist perform this test to confirm that you have an oil pressure issue.
