Hi

New to forum and first time question I have a 81 corvette and the oil temp gauge
don't work, I grounded wire and gauge moved so I bought an orig Delco sending
unit my question is do I just remove old one and screw new one in ? Any oil in
this opening or is it just electrical ?

Any help will be appreciated

1st Welcome to CAC!!!!
hope you enjoy the forums...

be sure to stop by the L-81 registry and register you '81

as far as you sending unit, you should just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one!!!!

also stop by the New member introductions and introduce your self!!!!

There is a bit of oil in the pressure sensor...but very little.

Try taking an ohm reading across the terminals of the oil pressure sensor; does it show an open or a short? If not, then take another reading with the engine running. If the same as with the engine off, then very likely the sensor is shot.

And lastly, welcome!
