Barry went and got that C3.....well....I found a '78 Indy Pace Car L82, 4 speed......and we have agreed on price, I just need to get the cash to him....and then she will come home.....not sure how the other Corvettes are going to take to this C3....the C1, C2 and both C5's are RED.....this one is black and silver.....hope there isn't a fight!

going to have to make a new montage of my cars......

Herb looks like you are not the only one Heavyduty just bought a pace car on Ebay now you need a C4 and a new Z06 to make one of every generation:cool

Herb

copy cat! :)

and BTW, stop blaming me for for stuff when you just can't stop copying eveything I do ;LOL

congrats on the new car - I just can't believe you bought a non-red Vette.
Geez, you have too many cars now, how are you going to fit a picture of that new one into your signiture pic?

it is easier to blame you...I tell sharon its your fault...gets me off the hook.....and yes...need a C4....I keep looking at the Grand Sports....perhaps a convertible....but those are hard to find and usually serious money......and its blue...but thats ok....

besides this being your fault....I like your ideas....and copying is the most sincere form of flattery......

Now your talkin' I entertained the thought of a GS when I bought my C5, but they were more money and I wanted something to drive every day.

I have been looking...perhaps after I pay off my spousal support, maybe that will be the gift to myself then......I did look for one second at a '78 pace car 4 speed that had 474 miles...never titled....but the guy wanted almost $40k....cough cough.....that was just a tiny bit more than I wanted to pay...like 3 times what I wanted to pay.....would have been a sweet car....but oh well......

Herb

I bet your '78 doesn't need a ton of work like mine does though! ;LOL

but the good news is that I have all documentation back to the first owner, all service records, window sticker, and it has less than 9,500 miles! It's a shame that it got into such poor condition in such a limited milage life though.......

once I'm done with her she will look decent again and be a perfect toy for Linda - L82, auto trans, AC, PS PB PW PDL and both the standard body colored and the optional mirrored glass T-tops.

well....I think it needs much more than you think....I paid $13,500 for it....usually a Pace Car with a 4 speed and middle low miles is $20k+.....this has 82k miles on it.....but is a good driver...so it will need some fixing up to get it where it needs to be...but it is in line behind the C1 and the C2 that needs suspension work...nice find with such low miles......

herb congrats on the purchase and may it serve you well.

You cant blame Barry,But you can blame your better half as she is the enabler to you.

I have to tell you once you get past purchasing your secound vette, The other ones are too easey to convince your self you need it.

I am allways on the look out for a 74 yellow big block convertable.

Hopefully I dont find one any time soon as I really dont need one.

I certainly do need one of the new Z06's but thankfully none are available by me

Best of Luck

Herb,
When do we all ever have enough corvettes??
I THINK I'll be done after I find my Z06
No more garage space-Oh I know, I'll let my wifes M roadster sit outside
Jim

Rich
my '78 isn't a pace car version, but it does have the rear spoiler like the pace cars and it's an original 9,400 mile L82 car. When I'm done fixing her up you are more than welcome to buy it. :D

Larry, a new member of our club just picked up a brand new C6 Z06 and still has a second one on order and if I'm not mistaken it's yellow........ he mentioned that since he was able to get the first Z06 already he is offering the car still on order to somebody that wants it. It's a '07 model.

I have always liked the Pace Car styling and colors...I know it isn't red.....but it will be fine.....my enabler has told me no more cars until I get the '60 done...I tried to talk my way around it last night as she caught me looking at some more.....and I did my best to whine.....but I think she is pretty serious about me getting the 60 done before I bring anything else in the garage...I told her there was room for at least 2 more....she said what happened to having equal amounts of cars between us...I told her, you had quit buying, so I was making up for you....didn't go anywhere with that one either....I guess I had better get the '60 done so I can be on the prowl for something else......she is the best...I am just spoiled beyond all belief and adjectives!

It sure is in good hands now Herb and no doubt is already on the project list. Sounds like you found a good deal. If Heaven and I ever get down to your neck of the woods do we look for the sign "Herbs Corvettes" or "Herbs Chevrolet"?;) :D . With the new the vette count I think you will soon be adding more service bays and putting a few mechanics on the payroll!:L . Just kiding Herb, congrats on your great find and it really is a pleasure following your projects with you so please keep the posts coming. So nice to see you having so much enjoyment from your vettes.
Take care:upthumbs

if you go to Craigs for the May 31st BBQ and if you happen to be coming via Penn. and the Ohio Turnpike, you go right by our place in Norwalk, Ohio....not sure what time you would be going by....BUT....it is not more than about 12 miles off the Turnpike....we certainly have the garage space if it is needed.....
