thats right let me hear them. did you set and achieve any goals? any let downs from mods? broken parts? lets here the blood and guts of it! i know there is a few racers in here and part time guys that track their cars!

i'll start off with mine...

started the year really good with a strong car. got it dynoed with mild bolt on's after my LT header swap. car made 245 rwhp and 355 rwtq range. only got 1 pull due to a EGR hose to #8 cylinder i had rigged up failed on the run. (had high temp hose temporarily holding it connected) i got ran in hot also at 220+ water temp. all in all i was still happy especially with a 12.9:1 A/F ratio. the car was strong and showed it end of March. this was my first track day in not so good air and with the TPiS LT header install the car picked up 3+ mph on a 700+ DA day compared to -1500 DA with previous best ET and MPH! the car picked up a tenth and left another tenth or 2 on the table. i was very happy and thought i was on my way to 12's on a very mild bolt on A4 2.59 L98 car!

Fall Racing season hasn't been so good to me. have been experiencing loss of ET and MPH and haven't had the time to trace the problem :( but i'm hoping i can get it back upto par before season's end. the cars running 4 mph off and most likely 4 tenths which puts me at a 12.8x at 107+ mph which should be failry accurate with weather calculations on -1000 DA or greater air. i was really hoping to get a 12 second time slip especially since i know the car has it in it. my other goal that i can still achieve is 300 rwhp and 400 rwtq on stock internals and stock TPI. i think the car is very close to it especially if i can get it dynoed in race conditions with the water temp cooled. this is something that i'm gonna start working on is getting the Code worked out and finding out why the car is running rich and go from there. if i can get that done before season's end i'm sure a 12 second slip is coming my way for this car although it's not setup for 1/4 mile with stock 1600 stall and 2.59 gears. once i get that 12 second slip heads/cam/intake and a little shot is going on the car over the winter while i do the 396 build.

ok your turn! :)

My worst? Short and sweet - powershifting from third to second. Not only embarrassing but mechanically damaging as well. :hb

Worst experiance - The Corvette Challenge a few months ago at Raceway Park New Jersey. They let us in at 1PM, didnt get my first pass until 3PM. I bogged the motor on the start and ran a 14.1, The 6 speed requires some practice.

It would have been over an hour before another run, because the program before us ran over.

I did go back to RP a few weeks later on a Wednesday night and ran a 13.12 (Yeah Mike, I still took 2.09 seconds to cover that first 60 feet). I did get the pass on video so I felt better.

I also took a few passes in a 69 GTO with a custom Pontiac 467, down at Atco. I turned a best of 11.7, Now that was a rush!

Probably not what you really want, but....

Worst: that heavy, loud thunk when the rear end broke, while taking an Explorer on the outside lane of an on-ramp. Then, the fluid draining from under the rear of my car towards the curb.

Best: 1) the many times a tweenie in a fart-can-equipped Ricer refused to make eye contact after hearing my car's lumpy idle at a stoplight, after figuring this old dude would get a lesson in speed. Man, that Comp Cam and those Flowmasters save me gas money!

2) Equally satisfying is the fuel-shutoff-RPM-limited, tire-spinning, controlled-drift romp away from an end-swapping U-turn, with the ear-to-ear grin on my brother's face during his first RIDE. I've still not figured out why these tires smoke only AFTER the first one. :D
