I have an original 1960 Corvette. I signed up for the 2014 Corvette Caravan next August. My wife is dreading it because she HATES the heat, and well, the car has no air conditioning.

Wondering if any of you have seen a mini-car air conditioning unit that can be plugged into the lighter to provide a little relief from the heat if it becomes unbearable for her!

Thanks - been doing some Google searches and have not come across anything yet!

No air conditioner that plugs into the lighter, but you may find a removable 12v fan that clips into place and plugs into the lighter that can help a lot. :)

Just drive faster! Works for me - especially in the rain!

If you have never been on a Caravan before, as a Caravan Section Captain, I can tell you that, if your Wife hates the heat, consider that the Caravan takes place in about the hottest part of the summer and goes to Kentucky which, in late-Aug/early-September is likely to be hot and humid.

You better think about putting a Vintage Air system in that 60 along with a big, DeWitts aluminum radiator.

You might also consider installing a heat and sound insulation kit under the carpet. There is a lot of radiant heat that passes through the floor on these cars. Stopping some of that will give you some relief. It won't cool down the outside air but at least you won't feel like you are sitting too close to the fireplace too.
