I got a chance to look over the Grand Sport "clone" when it sat in the paddock. Very neat job and it looks like it would be lots of fun to drive.
The "real" #2 (Chassis #3) Grand Sport was owned by a gentleman in the Seattle area up until about last year. He regularly drove the car in Historic races all over the country. His wife drove a '63 Z06 and they drove these cars as hard as they were meant to be driven. I have seen them both race in Seattle, Portland and at the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca.
A few years ago when the 02 car was being run here at PIR, he somehow manages to mess up coming out of Turn 12 (where Moonunit 451's car is shown) and he wound up stuffing it into the wall going into the straightaway! The car was quickly repaired and he returned to racing it. He later said basically that the car was meant to be driven as a race car and accidents happen to race cars. IIRC, he got way over a million dollars for it when he sold the car.
