When I installed my 100 gph Carter electric fuel pump several years ago I made an adapter for a one quart Chevrolet oil filter then mounted it on the rear cross-frame to the left of my spare tire. My fuel gravity flows thru the filter before going to the electric fuel pump so the pump is always protected. I use a standard Chevrolet oil filter but I use the one without the anti-drainback feature and then I change it every two years just because they're so inexpensive; like $5 or so and available everywhere. The oil filters are rated for 15 microns so they're plenty adequate for use with a carburetor. For my fuel injected '82 I use a 6 micron CAT filter that is also a one quart capacity.
