Just to lend a modicum of authenticity to my decision on the use of a spreader bar, the installation of very wide tires on these old cars causes considerable front end flex on hard cornering.

The spreader bar helps to stabilize the geometry sufficiently to stay ahead of all those young C5's and C6's in the corners as well as on the straights. ;)
