Okay, this seems totally strange, and totally stupid... I know I am not going crazy... Why in hell would GM only put a passenger side kick panel vent in, when both of the plastic moldings are vented? Someone didn't patch over my driver side vent for the feet, did they? I think this is a really stupid design. Passenger side kick panel had the vent, and a small speaker. Driver side had false cover on it, no vent. WTF. I have never seen a car with only one vent... What were they thinking! Or did someone do somethign really stupid to mine?

I assume your car has a/c.

The vent is for the recirculation of air. Otherwise, it vents fresh air in through the outer cowl (from the tray where the windshield wipers park), down to the blower, and in to the car.

There is no need for a vent on both sides to do this.

The non-air cars had to have the vent on both sides to blow air in.

Speaking of kick panel vents, I want to install both vents in my 72 coupe with ac (will be using a vintage air setup so I dont need outside air to a/c unit). Does anybody have names of salvage places that might have the pieces?
