Last night I was disaasembling a Quadrajet that I plan to rebuild for my car. It was pretty cruddy and I was completely taking it apart. As I was loosening the screws that hold the butterflies to the shaft, a screw head twiisted off leaving the screw in the shaft. I'm not sure that I can drill this out and retap due to the small size of the screw. Anyone ever encountered this?

I wouldn't bother trying to get the screws out. They ALWAYS break! Just leave the butterflies & rod in to clean them if that's all you want to do. You'll just have to hold them open to clean the throats.
