I accidentally over charged the 95's A/C. My gauge is way off.How can I let some out without having oil come out with it. I was dpressing the Shrader valve on the Low Port and Oil started to come out..

Any way to do this without a recovery Unit?

First, I'll remind you that venting R134A into the atmosphere is illegal.

I do not know of any way to get the freon out without loosing some oil.

Good Luck!

I only thought that R-12 freon is illegal to vent, didn't know that R-134A is also illegal.

The problem is , you need to replace the oil if any amount is lost.

Three points
1) It is illegal to vent 134a. Under section 608 of the Clean Air Act, it has been illegal since November 15, 1995, to knowingly vent substitutes for CFC and HCFC refrigerants during the maintenance, service, repair and disposal of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. R-134A is substitute for CFC-12 (commonly know as R-12).

2) In terms of oil lost, you probably won't loose much. You're much more likely to over oil, than under oil. It is also a lot easier to add oil, than remove it. If the compressor is quiet, then you have enough oil.

3) If you really want your system set up correctly, have the entire system evacuated and flushed. Then refill it with the correct amount of oil and freon. R-134A is not very forgiving. 1 oz too much or too little and the system will not operate optimally.

I did it.Complete Empty / Refill.I did have a 1/2 Lb. too much in it.

Road Test: 89F yesterday the center vent pulled down to 57-58F or so in city driving only after only 10-15 Min. I think a Delta "T" of 32-33 Degrees is not bad?

What do you think?
