I just stopped in at a Chevrolet dealer and he said I have to get on a "list" and then I can't order until January '14. But others have already ordered? What gives? How do I "order" one? Oh yeah, he said I'd have to pay $10,000 or so over MSRP?

I'd call McMullen in Nashua NH and get the straight answer ,I'd also recommend museum delivery .

That would be MacMulkin Chevrolet, and their website is www.macmulkin.net

Good luck and let us know how you make out!

Elaine

Sounds like the dealer is out of allocations. There are dozens of dealers who can take your order and deposit right now. P.S. Don't pay over list.. ;)

Please clear this up.

Are you upset your local Chevrolet Dealer can't get their order in for a Corvette and defending him even though the dealer has the gall to tell you it would be $10,000 over?

Tell him to pound sand!!! I would even think twice about buying anything else from him as well.

AND THEN that dealer won't be able to service your new Corvette because they won't know squat about it.

Keep us posted on what you decide to do! I cannot get your dealership another allocation for an order, if you want one now you will have to use a different dealer that has orders open. I am here if you need any help,

I just ordered my new car from my local dealer Red/Red 1LT Z51, I am very happy with the professionalism and will not disclose the Dealer because he sold me the car at $1000 over invoice and will not do that for anyone else due to his modest allocation. Some dealers do value a customers loyalty.

Just got to get my 87 13,xxx mile Callaway sold before it gets here.

My dealer also told me they couldn't order a Corvette for me. Purchased my first car from them in March 1955. Purchased all but 3 of my new cars from them over the years including 3 new Corvettes in the last 10 years. I was told that they could get me one as they could order it through another dealer. What? Do they know I can do that?

I did want to get the new '14 and get it with an automatic this time as the old knees are making more noise than the Corsa's when I shift. I've already received flyers from bigger city dealers but that may not happen. I tend to buy local and American but if the museum delivery wasn't so expensive I might try that.

Didn't help to sit in it and look it over good at MIS last week, will need to get it in black to help hide those ugly vents. :)

Use one of the big city dealers and select Museum delivery. That way you never have to go to the dealer - just send the check or promisary note to them and then head to Bowling Green when your C7 is ready for delivery.

If you are going to do museum delivery, get on the phone and call around for the best price. If they are up to their knees in snow you could get a fantastic deal. Or from one of the biggy Corvette dealers like Macmulkin or Kerbeck. An never, never pay over sticker.

Hope this helps :beer

Actually if I had to pay someone an extra grand plus the standard trucking cost and add to that paying my own way down to the factory to pick it up I'd go to the BMW Welt. Car would be discounted, nice vacation in Germany, and I could pick it up when it gets here and stay at my son's house. Although it might be fun to do the CM pick up it sure is not cheap, at least not as cheap as I am. Going to the Welt to pick up your car can just about wipe out the cost of a weeks vacation for two, that's if you leave out the high cost of gas. Oh, wait, we're getting that too!!!
