Does anyone know where the the factory hid the original build sheets on the 96 CE LT4???

Believe it's on the top of the gas tank towards the front of the car in most all cases. If you look up at the front of the tank you might be able to see it.

Some other C4's had a copy rolled up and placed in the front crossmember just in front of the engine. Some people have been able to grab a part of it and roll it around and pull it through one of the holes.

But you can get a excellent copy of both the build sheet and the window sticker from the National Corvette Museum. Go here: https://www.corvettemuseum.com/library-archives/build_sheets/index.shtml to place your order. If your're not a member of the NCM, you should consider joining this great place. You can get the member discount on your build sheet order and the membership is a tax deduction.

I can see a piece of mine hanging over the side of the gasoline tank. I've heard that somewhere in the area at the right-front frame rail another may sometimes be found. Then of course there could always be one in the interior someplace.

You are aware of the fact that one can obtain copies of the original build sheet and window sticker from the NCM, aren't you? :CAC

I pulled mine out of a frame rail on the pass. side, I think it's under the power steering unit(right side). Use a needle nose pliers, go easy and try to twist it and roll it out. It will work. Strange thing is that I want a repro of the window sticker from the NCM, and they force you to buy the build sheet at the same time.:(

Thanks for the info. I have a "copy" but would like to have the original.

I have one on top of the gas tank on the passenger side, but it's under the metal band and I can't pull it out without ripping it. One way to get a look at it is to take the rear license plate off.

Thats exaclty where mine is too, I can see it when the black plastic USA-1 plate is removed.
