Question: Out of the Box comparison

I try to read the magazines and watch the videos on this site and generally keep up when cars are compared to each other. This video of the ZL1 vs the Z06 and others. These folks say "when we goy such and such we compared them. They never seem to break these cars in like I had to. One magazine had an article about this guy that bought an all black all optioned car and he gave it to the reporter to "check it out" of course the article told about how fast the car was. Are these cars"broken in" before these runs or do they just go for it? Just wondering?

Usually, the cars are "Captured Test Fleet" or CTF cars that are used by the manufacturer for the automotive news media. They are usually, pretty well broken-in by the time they get into the hands of journalists.
