Outta Site Oil Pressure

I got into my 99 vette this morning, cranked it up and the oil pressure guage pinned at 80. The LED says the oil pressure is 129. The olil level is perfect and the car runs fine. Has anybody had this happen to them and figured out how to fix it?

I just did a search for a thread I started regarding the same problem with my '98 but it must have been lost in one of our past server crashes. :eyerole

Your oil level is fine so it's likely the oil sending unit. As I recall, when I posted several members with C5s chimed in that they had experienced the same problem.

Jane Ann would be Correct!! Purdy common on C5's!!

Thanks for the response. I'll get a new sending unit and let you know if it works.
