I can't believe it. My car has started to do the same thing. The boost only runs up to 50 in the lower gears but in 4th and 5th it runs right past 55hg (though I do have to really bury the pedal to do this!)

It feels like there is a slight flat spot when I hit the throttle as well, though this is VERY slight and I can drive through it in no time.

There's been some mention about cleaning out the vacuum lines to the wastegates. Is this the metal line on top of the wastegate that looks like a brake pipe? If it is I can't see where it goes to. Anyone know? I didn't look too long because it was COLD out there this morning!

Thanks folks. p.s. how's everyone's cars going?

Man, Im sorry to hear this is happening to you too. Well which ever one of us figures it out first can pass the info along to the other.

Any updates on this situation? I haven't had the chance to mess with mine in a while so Ive made no progress.

Overboost

Hi Surf, I haven't had a chance to play with my car either but I'm wondering if it's to do with removing the cats. Maybe it's always done it and I didn't notice until i saw your post.

I've seen some suggestions about checking the vacuum lines to the wastegates but I haven't had a chance to check.

At the moment I'm just keeping my right foot out of it!

boost problem

Yes it has to do with removing the cats. It is flowing to freely now I spoke with Reeves about it and he says the wastegates might not be able to handle it after removing the cats

I dont' think thats it. There are several guys around here running no cats and they don't have the overboost problem.

He said the same thing to me after I put on the Random Tech cat and y-pipe with no precats. It was the wastegate...it had failed at the same time.

yea I got to thinking after my last post....

My car did it before I took the cats off.

Surf--did you ever get this figured out?

No, I haven't really had time to mess with it. Unfortunately Im probably gonna be selling my car though :( Its a long story. The guy is coming to look at it next week.

If I do sell it Im gonna have another one as soon as I can.
