Oyster Interior Question...

I have a 1979 with Black exterior and Oyster Leather Interior. My question has to do with the color of the carpeting. My carpet is what I would call a medium grey color. When I try to order replacement mats for my car, the company I deal with keeps wanting to send me a light or medium beige mat. My car only has 13,000 miles on it and I am owner #2. I know for a fact that this is the original carpeting. I even tried to order a pair of 1978 silver interior mats...still not even close to the right color.

I don't mean to be so anal...what am I doing wrong? I just want a medium grey mat that matches the interior of my 79 oyster with grey carpeting. What do you all suggest?

I have a 77 that I bought new, it has the smoke interior and the carpets were a darker gray than the carpet. Hope that helps.

Have you given them your interior code (122 I presume) or just told them Oyster? You'd be surprised how things can get lost in translation. Sounds like they are sending you light biege (592 or 59C) instead. I don't know who you're dealing with, but maybe you should give someone else a shot at it. I've had good luck with Wilcox. Great prices, too.

Did you get the problem resolved as I would be interested in the outcome.

I have an 80 Black ext/ Oyster int / med gray carpets and I'm having a hard time finding the correct combination even though everthing is original.

Just a suggestion. Mines Black with oyster. Same Medium gray carpet. I got black front mats from Corvette Central with the C-3 embroidered in them any they look very nice.
