long story short. i have a reocurring P0300 code after two consecutive highway cruises. i have over time replaced, the plugs-wires-distributer-water pump-coil-ignition module-crank sensor. still have the problem. here is the kicker, i don't feel anything wrong with the car under cruise. it dynoed at 300rwhp stock and runs like a bear. do i have a bum new opti crap? has any one else ever had a similar experience? i doubt the chain is stretched as it is my understanding that the LT4 has a roller chain with steel gears. i feel no tire or driveshaft vibration at all. i'm going to start going after fuel problems now but i wanted to see if it was a common problem or if anyone encountered this before.

. . . anyone encountered this before.

Nope not me and I've put about 14K on her ticker in the last few years.

She's setting right @ 38K.

Later . . . . . .

You know what the code is so you must have run a scan test. What did the freeze frame show?

Do you understand the conditions that must be present to set DTCP0300?

Have you run the diagnostic tests in the Service Manual?

the scan tool i have is just a code reader. but i do understand the conditions for the code to set and know how it works. unfortunatly i don't have ready access to a scan tool that will give me serial data. when the problem occurs the car is at cruise and i don't feel any problem. i have heard that the injectors go bad on these cars. how often is that likely? the car has about 51K on it.

the new plugs that i put in looked like new when i checked them, plus the plugs i originally removed looked very good. i really don't think the car is really missing, or if it is it's not enough to foul out a plug. still think it's a glitch in the new opti-spark i put in, but how can i confirm this without a scanner?
