P0430 Code

My 98 keeps setting off the check engine light with a P0430 code.What would be the most likely culprit?.Am I ready for new cats or is it most likely something else causing the problem?.Any info would be appreciated.

HI there,
As long as you do NOT have any exhaust leakage, then yes, your due for new converters.
A sidebar is that they are warranteed for 8 yr/80k. So, if you are under the mileage, and you have not modified the cats, then you will not have to pay for them.
