paint color

I am restoring a 1960 ...I was wondering if any of you knowlegeable people could give me some advise to color. Is the original color that important or could I paint it to the color of my choice without damaging the corvette image/integrity. Also how do I determine the originaln color. I find no trim code/plate.Thanks:confused

here is a view of a 1960, IVORY
look on the bulkhead in the trunk. It is written there. may need to use a coin to scrape off some paint as the paint did not adhere well to the crayon marking
look in all the usual places for original paint....especially under the deck lid and in nooks and crannies in the trunk, overspray on the floor, inside the glove box
