Paint for '65 saddle interior

Hi folks,

Does anyone know the correct paint brand(s) and color code for a '65 saddle interior? I need to repaint my center console.

Your local DuPont or other automotive paint store should be able to fix you up. It seems like Ecklers also has the correct interior paints listed in their catalog.

I just did some interior work on my '64 Saddle Tan. ZIP Products carries the correct dye and primer. Tom is also correct.

Hi!

Are you looking for a factory correct interior or a new looking interior? I used PPG (medium saddle-22597) & DuPont lacquer on my interior for the correct color shades and sheen. If you take your speaker grill to a Dupont paint outlet they can match with the correct sheen and shade of saddle. I also mixed the two lacquers to achieve the color I wanted for the panels behind the seats. The shade of the replacement dash pads seemed to be of a lighter shade than the original pads.

I'd like the color to be as close to original as possible, but this isn't a restoration either so I may just start off trying the Eckler's vinyl paint.

A previous owner painted the interior bronze/gold color so unfortunately I don't have any pieces that could be used to match with new paint. And it's not like you see a lot of saddle interiors you can compare with! Thanks for the photo though.

Hi! Andy

You may want to check the bottom of the speaker grill. If the previous owner did not remove before painting the original color still may be there.
