So, I need a new hood. And the new hood needs to be painted.
I've settled on the stinger-type hood that Vanacor makes for the C3's, and I'm going to have it painted Corvette Light Beige (my car's color) on the hood, and some sort of dark red (matched to my interior trim) on the scoop.
I've discussed this with a local body shop, and he quoted me $600-700, approximately, for the painting (sand, prime, paint first color, paint scoop).
This shop does very good work, and I've had them do work on other (steel-bodied) cars before, so I know they'll do a good job.
But I figured I'd ask you guys: does that seem like a fairly realistic price for the job?
Joe
