Does anybody have suggestions on how to cover up spiderwebbing. I have been looking at some of the colored wax products by turtle wax and duplicolor for a solution, but I would like to get some suggestions. Thanks!!

Would a paint shop be able to fix the problem or would they have to repaint? Thanks!!

I don't think it can be fixed.

I suppose it would depend on how deep the cracks are. If they aren't too deep (all the way through the paint layer) it could possibly be buffed / wet-sanded (?) but then you'd have a very thin layer of paint!

Personally, I'd think repaint would be the only way to go.
Only way to know for sure is to visit a paint shop and ask, they would need to see the vette to observe its' current paint condition.

Yup, I agree. Most likley it will have to be repainted. Im guessing its been painted before anyway most factory paint jobs don't crack.

Well I would think the paint would spider if the panel had been flexed front bumping something.. like if you bumped your front bumper on something..

hello,
i agree with BlackNBlue95.if it is your bumper, someone hit it and flexed the bumper.the same thing happen to me,my fix was remove bumper, sand, paint clear coat, install and buff.the bumper gets pinched when flexed and if they dont sand out the cracks they will show thru the new paint.if it the front, you will have to make sure the bumper is stripped all the way down, painted with the flex additive baked with painters light.my friend had his car in the shop for the third time in 3 months.they are having a hard time getting the paint to stick.he drives the car for one month and the rock chips are all over the front.the rest of the car is fine.
i had an 89 i needed to paint real fast went to Makko, the paint started to chip of the front immediatly, the rest of the car was fine.i see everywhere.its hard to repaint the front bumper and make it stick for a long time.just sharing a couple of my bad experiances, have a good night,Todd.

In my 85, the spiderwebbing was on both bumpers. Had it repainted w/flex additive by a guy who owned an 85 and he was able to do it right! That was about 2 years ago and the bumpers still look brand new. The spiderwebbing, in order to be fixed, needs to be repainted. It just sucks that everytime your in a parking lot you have to wonder if parking is gonna cost you a few hundred $$$ :mad

Thanks all for the help. Looks like I'm going to visting the local paint shops.
