:wThe paint pens work very well

looks great...just did mine the other day.

I painted my hood liner too. However, it doesn't look as good as I hoped it would. But the good thing is I can just get out the black and repaint the whole thing and try again.

Is the paint in the pens heat-resistant to a certain temp? That looks nice and I'm interested in doing it myself but I wouldn't want it to come off on the engine/fuel rail covers after a nice drive. Any chance of that happening?

I hope not... Someone told me that once the heat got it would be forever permanent.

Yes, very helpful webpage dealing with C5 Modifications, etc.

Thanks

I just did mine according to the 97-vette instructions. I was not real happy with the results of the Red color of the Testors paint. I went to the local Kragen's and got the GM bright red touch up paint and used it. I'm much happier with this Red
As far as the heat goes, I had to go get my son from the day care about 1 hour after the last coat and I had re-installed the liner. I was worried about the heat. I checked it a couple of times on this outing. The engine temp had read as high as 209 during the stop and go in the CA heat. No problem. When you actually feel the liner it is not too hot really, just warm to the touch. I did notice a faint “smell” for a 1/2 hr or so, I think it was just the rust-oleum breaking in.
:)

it's not hard at all...in fact, i really enjoyed doing it. and it's totally worth it. i put it off for a while thiking that i'd screw it up, but i was really happy with it.

my only issue is that i couldn't get the white to come through no matter how many coats i used. so, i just used silver in the flag area and it looks fine. cool thing about this mod, you can use what ever colour combo you want.

I have got ot do this. Thanks for the info.:D :D

I did mine and had it for a while and the paint has not come off. I live in Southern California where the weather has been in the 100's and it is fine.
